What seats fit a 40 Series LandCruiser?

Two seat options fit a 40 Series LandCruiser: Huracan Fabrication's Premium Touring Seats, or donor seats out of a Falcon (BA-FGX) or VE Commodore. Both mount using our bolt-in Seat Adapter Kit to suit 40 Series Landcruiser, which is a complete bolt-in solution that doesn't require any drilling, welding, or cutting. The one catch to check first: that kit is not compatible with 40 Series Landcruisers that have the fuel tank located under the seats.

Option 1: Premium Touring Seats to suit a 40 Series LandCruiser

Our Premium Touring Seats to suit the 40 Series LandCruiser are a complete seat — nothing to source from a wrecker.

They're sold as a pair. $2,500 buys you both a driver and passenger seat. If you need just one seat, please contact us.

What the product page states about them:

• Durable materials. Crafted from premium leather, built to handle tough Australian conditions. Non-seating surfaces use a harder-wearing colour-matched vinyl to help resist scuffing and chafing over time.
• Adjustable features. Adjustable recline, tilt, and headrest settings.
• Lumbar support. Adjustable lumbar support is standard on the driver's side only. If you want it on the passenger side as well, select the appropriate option on the product page.
• ADR approved. These seats are built around genuine Holden seat frames with Commodore GTS-style seat foam, meaning the seat itself is already ADR approved. Combined with our custom seat adapters, which carry their own engineering approval.
• Console compatible. Compatible with a 15L Bushman fridge or a Cruiser Console positioned between them. Refer to the photos on the product page for fitment reference.

They're designed to work with our bolt-in 40 Series adapter kits, so installation doesn't need major modifications. Seat adapters are sold separately.

Option 2: Falcon or VE Commodore donor seats on the adapter kit

The Seat Adapter Kit to suit a 40 Series Landcruiser is precision-engineered for a bolt-in installation of Falcon (BA-FGX) or VE Commodore seats.

Worth being clear on the trade-off before you commit:

• Seats are not included in this sale. You source the donor seats yourself — wreckers, marketplace listings, or a set you already have.
• The donor seats must be from a Falcon (BA-FGX) or a VE Commodore. Those are the seats the kit is built around.
• Condition is on you. A tired set of donor seats will feel tired once they're in the truck, so it pays to inspect foam, rails and trim before you hand over cash.

What you do get in the kit: all necessary nuts, bolts, and spacers are included, along with detailed full-colour instructions. One kit covers the installation of both front seats unless you choose otherwise during purchase.

The fitment check that catches people out

Before you buy either way, look under your seats.

The adapter kit is not compatible with 40 Series Landcruisers that have the fuel tank located under the seats. That's the single hard incompatibility on this vehicle, and it's worth two minutes with a torch rather than finding out on install day.

Straight from the kit's instructions: all you need is a socket set, donor seats from a Falcon (BA-FGX) or VE Commodore, and about an hour of your time. Full-colour instructions are included to guide you through it.

No drilling. No welding. No cutting.

Where this sits legally

This is the part people most often get wrong, so here it is plainly.

Our touring seats are ADR approved. Installing them — or fitting a seat adapter kit — is a vehicle modification that must be certified by a VASS signatory engineer in Victoria, or the equivalent signatory scheme in your state or territory, who issues the modification certificate ('mod plate'). Requirements vary by state. Until certified, the modification is intended for off-road use.

Our seat adapter kits are designed to meet compliance requirements in all Australian states. But the sign-off has to come from a certified engineer in the state where your vehicle is registered — no supplier can do that part for you.
